Since June 2010, the human right to have access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation is recognised by the General Assembly of the United Nations. But more crucial steps are delayed. In Europe, just 1.9 millions citizens with the signing of the European Citizens' Intitiative "right2water" have asked the European Commission and the European Parliament to do more for the implementation of the law. The organizations which supported this ECI want to discuss with academics, politicians, practitioners and all interested in the topics for implementation of the right to water.
Call for papers:
- Implementation of human rights in Germany, Europe and Internationally from a legal, political or practical point of view.
- Protection of water resources as the basis of human rights
- UN sustainability goals in 2015
- Effects of the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership EU / U.S.
