January 2014: Symposium Implementing the human right to water
Symposium
at 17.01 2014 Berlin
in the hall of the House of Agriculture and Food Industry,
Claire Waldoff-Str. 7, 10177 Berlin
Since June 2010, the human right to have access to safe drinking water and basic sanitation is recognised by the General Assembly of the United Nations. But more crucial steps are delayed. In Europe, just 1.9 millions citizens with the signing of the European Citizens' Intitiative "right2water" have asked the European Commission and the European Parliament to do more for the implementation of the law. The organizations which supported this ECI want to discuss with academics, politicians, practitioners and all interested in the topics for implementation of the right to water.
